These are exactly what I would want and expect from a pair of dark, skinny jeans. They are soft, slimming, the ankle opening is the perfect size in my opinion, and they are not too high or low rise, hence the "mid rise" description. :) I normally wear size 4 in most brands and size 26 fit me well--very snug but allowing for some stretch after wearing them. I love these jeans and expect to buy another pair to add to my wardrobe!

Prosperfect fit
In the late 90's (I'm dating myself here), I started to buy "designer" jeans: 7's, True Religion, Paper Denim & Cloth, etc. for a lot of money. Since then I've bought many other brands, both expensive and affordable, out of the 100-200 pairs of jeans I've gone through, J Brand has been the best fit for me. The leg is skinny, but not too skinny, the rise hits perfectly right below my navel, I love the dark wash and my bum looks good. I give these jeans two very enthusiastic thumbs up.
I think it takes lots of trying to find the best fit for you. Always take reviews with a grain of salt. Jeans are just as personal as skin care, underwear, etc. Good luck!

Absolutely PERFECT fit….ALL day!! Bonus - the dye is super dark (love this, too) and did NOT come off on me at all. I bought them in a 28, because I haven't quite lost all of my holiday weight gain, but also purchased my normal 27. I wasn't sure which ones to keep, but after wearing the 28s all day, I'm keeping them both!

Proscomfy stylish
If you want a pair of versatile, perfect fitting jeans, these are the ones. I wear them with everything. I'm obsessed with them. True to size!
