The jeans have just enough stretch for comfort and the color is perfect for day or night. I'm especially happy with the rise as there is no 'risk' when bending over like so many of the other brands out there. The length is perfect for trucking into boots or wearing with stilettos.
These are not as figure formed to the body as other j brands since the denim is lightweight. They also run a tiny bit bigger than other jbrands that I have had. I am probably in between a 26 and 27 and the 27s are not as flattering as usual. However the wash is very sleek and they are great jeans overall if you need something light weight but want a polished look.

I've been looking for a true dark blue, no fade skinny jean with some stretch and these are perfect! They fit great and are very comfortable. I wish the color was a little lighter, more blue than black.
At age 40 I got these jeans as J brand straight leg mid rise 815's are my go to jeans. I wore these new 811's out and my 21 year old mentees said they looked way too young for me, and way too tight for a lady of my age and professionalism, so i had to return them. Oh well, if you are 21-30 these will work! Otherwise I wish Nordstrom would stock more straight leg instead of pencil leg jeans from good jeans brands, like j brand! I will not be wearing not your mother's jeans any time soon thanks!
