Ordered my first Sorel boots in 8.5M and I love them so far!
If you have large calf muscles, the area where the tendon is will fold or crumple in and this probably may cause discomfort and visible creases in the future. Next time, I may just order shorter boots instead. Size-wise, I am an 8-8.5 in sneakers and 9-9.5 in boots. This fit me perfectly and I would say it's true to fit with socks on. The width of the boot is very generous so I recommend them for women with slightly big calf muscles as well.
Only wished they removed the faux fur trimming as they easily lint/pluck out while trying them on. The black glitter makes this boot more fun to wear and surprisingly doesn't rub off. Love these boots!
I will be the first to admit I am not a sparkle girl, especially when it comes to winter boots. However, since the other Tofino Boots were sold out in my size, I decided to get these on the wonderful Nordstrom guarantee of being able to return them if I wasn't happy. I got these and was happily surprised, because the sparkle wasn't very pronounced, instead they were chicly shimmery, and I loved that the faux fur matched the boot itself. Warm and dry otherwise, exactly what I expect out of Sorel.
I like that this boot isn't big and clunky. It's water resistant and durable enough to shovel the driveway and walk the dog. It's also stylish enough to wear into a store, on the way to work, or at the ski resort. I like the faux black fur and shape and style. I would prefer that the glitter part were more like the 'Tofino Organza Boot' shiny material instead of actual glitter on cloth. Nonetheless it's the coolest real snow boot out there.
