this is a pretty great bag
PostedNovember 2, 2013
Prospractical, elegant, versatile, good for travel, lightweight, business, commuting, great pockets
So far I am liking this bag a lot. It is relatively lightweight because of the nylon construction, and I love all the external pockets, which are ideal for organizing the various things I want easy access to.
I fly a lot and it will be excellent for travel because of the easy access to passport and boarding pass in an external pocket, plus internal capacity for headphones, Kindle, iPad, magazines, and even a couple of granola bars. The same outside pockets are good on a daily basis for things like a transit pass, business card holder, smartphone, etc.
A couple of modest disappointments:
[1] I wish the lining had been made out of nylon like the outside - it would be lighter weight and easier to keep clean.
[2] I wish it were ONE INCH LONGER, one inch wider, and one inch deeper-- I can just barely get my 13" MacBook Air and a couple of file folders in there along with the other things I carry -- if the bag and top zipper were one inch longer, and the bag otherwise one more inch in each dimension, this would be a breeze. As it is it is doable, but the tabs on the file folders get bent and mangled a little if I'm not very careful.
I live in Portland (OR) and we are just getting started with the rainy season, so we'll see how the bag performs in rain, but I have been very encouraged by what some of the other reviewers have said about rain rolling off of it, so I'm hopeful.
One other thing: the quality of this bag, and the materials, seems to be very high, but the branding is subtle and the bag itself is discreet to carry. I love that because I carried a black nylon Prada crossbody satchel for years, and it was a terrific bag, but that giant Prada logo on the front always made me feel like a jerk. I dislike conspicuous consumption so I am happy to have a nice quality nylon handbag, lightweight, lots of pockets, far more elegant than a Sportsac, that doesn't have a big shiny famous designer logo on it.

LOVE THIS HANDBAG!

Prosperfect for trav, stylish fun, functional
This is my second MZ Wallace handbag. I bought the first one (a smaller one - the Bedford Paige) for travel, but for my upcoming trips, I needed something a little bigger. I looked everywhere -- zappos, ebags, Neiman's, etc. for a bag for travel that has a lot of pockets, is stylish and is made of a synthetic material (I didn't want a leather bag or something that might get ruined while going around town in possible light rain or snow). I couldn't find anything and so bought this bag despite the higher price tag than I wanted to pay. It's worth it. I can't find anything like it that is this quality. I first bought this bag in black but exchanged it for the one in currant. The black one has silver hardware, and it looked a little too motorcycle-y for me. The currant color is just beautiful. I never thought I'd own a dark purple bag, but it's really chic and FUN.

Love MZ Wallace!
PostedOctober 4, 2013
This is my fifth MZ Wallace and they are all wonderful and serve different purposes, but I think I have finally found the perfect bag! The material is lightweight and doesn't weigh you down like a leather bag, pockets for everything, great size, and you have the choice between an over the shoulder and a regular shoulder strap. Perfection! I can use the shoulder strap for running quick errands and into work and throw the shoulder strap over when I'm trying to get in and out of the grocery store with my two little boys. I bought the purple color and it is beautiful. It's subtle, but adds a great pop of color. It's one I can carry all year long. Thank you, Nordstrom, for getting it to me so quickly!

A workhorse bag with style

Prosstylish durable
I bought this bag to take me effortlessly from school to work to weekend, and it seriously does not disappoint. It has immense capacity, rain rolls right off of it, the choice of wearing it crossbody or carrying it by the top-handle adds much appreciated versatility, and there are pockets galore to keep me organized. The little leather wrapped feet are yet another thoughtful touch.
I chose the currant color, which is extremely deep and rich (note: it's darker in person than the image shown here), and contrasts beautifully with the rose-gold hardware. I never thought I'd be willing to pay almost 400 dollars for a nylon bag, but the craftsmanship and myriad thoughtful options have made me a convert. Other bags in the same price range, such as Coach and Kate Spade, aren't half as well made as this bag, in my opinion. Well worth the splurge.
