I applied this weatherproof spray to my Frye boots and purse. I can't say for sure how well it will work, but it definitely darkens the item that you are treating. It also leaves it a little "sticky", but I brushed it several times, and it got a little better. If a darker color is what you are looking for, than this is the spray to use.

For Dark Leather ONLY!

If you like the color of your Frye boots, DO NOT use this spray. It will make the leather 2 shades darker! It worked great on black and dark brown boots I own, however my daughters brand new pair of Frye boots is 2 shades darker and don't even resemble the original color after this treatment. Frye need to make a spray that will better work on lighter leather!

When you spend that amount of $$ on your Fry boots, go with the Frye spray (non-aeresol) to seal the deal (no pun intended).
I purchased this in hoping for a good weatherproofing spray, but after reading the reviews and reading the directions on the can I am afraid to even try this spray because it says it will darken the color and could damage the leather. It doesn't say it can be used on suede either. That is the reason I purchased this product. What a poor product for Frye to put out since Frye has great quality boots. Who wants to even use the spray if it could ruin the color of the boots. That kind of defeats the purpose of buying the boots for the color. Maybe Frye should make a better quality protector for leather products they are known for.
