Changes color of the leather

I wish I would have known how dramatically this spray was going to change the color of my cognac Frye Reina boots. They are at least a whole shade darker. Not to mention, the color variation that they used to have is no longer there, they are one uniform color. Not too happy about this happening to my $300+ boots. With that being said, I'm glad that the leather is now protected however if I knew that this was going to happen I wouldn't have used the spray. Please not, I have not owned the boots long enough to test the effectiveness of the spray so my rating does not reflect that.
Living in the PNW it's a good idea to weather proof any of your apparel, no to mention $400 Frye boots. This stuff darkened the leather as it says, but it's worth it to have the water protection.
