Although this was sold out in my size, I went ahead and ordered the size 12 hoping it could be altered and still look good. I'm so glad I did! It's perfect for my daughter's Nov. afternoon wedding and will look fab with a killer pair of shoes! I tried numerous long dresses and because I'm petite, they looked overwhelming. I feared I wouldn't be able to find the right dress. I knew this was the one when it arrived and my daughter agreed. The slate/steel color is just right, the long sleeves aren't tight (though too long - an easy fix). With a few nips and tucks, it'll be perfect and comfortable! Wish Nordstrom's had more petite sizes. The average American woman is 5'4".

I would only recommend this to a friend that was perhaps in their mid-50's. The dress was pretty, and had nice rushing across the tummy which covers a not so flat ab. However, it was a little bit matronly for me (I'm 47). I ordered the Eggplant, but was not in love with the color or the beading. I also ordered two other dresses from Nordstrom and out of all three, this was my least favorite. The beading was not as nicely done as the other dresses and the hemline was very crooked. I ordered the size that fit me as outlined on the dress chart (10) but a size smaller would have been better. Even though the dress was too big on me, I could tell that it would be a comfortable dress to wear.

The dress is glittery and figure flattering, the eggplant color is beautiful but the hemline was glarringly uneven as another reviewer had mentioned. 2 other construction problems-the neckline was not symmetrical and the side seams were also not symmetrical. Possibly because of the ruching and knit fabric?
