The clip is a bit long only because I have a small head. I like the clip though it is very attractive and both dressy and casual at the same time. It stays in the hair very well. I bought the onyx color and it is great. This barrette is well made.

I have searched long and hard for a narrow barrette that would hold my long heavy hair at the nape of my neck. I love to style my hair this way, and have finally found the perfect barrette! It is not only beautiful, the clasp mechanism is strong enough to keep my hair in place. I am delighted with my purchase!

Prosbeautiful, holding power
I have such a hard time with most barettes because I have very thick hair. This barrette holds. without any problems. It spreads my hair out so that it is not a huge bump of hair. It is now my favorite barrette.
