I had these jeans on my wish list since last year! I am very pleased with my purchase. The higher waist is flattering and "holds you in". This is the perfect style for a petite curvy frame. I am 5'4", 129 lbs and got the 28. They are snug at first and conform to your shape. They are a true black and high quality, but have a lint brush on hand. Very comfortable,versatile and an excellent investment. Nordstrom customer service is stellar!

I have had a really hard time finding skinny jeans that look good on me since I carry more weight in my lower body. So I can't wear skinny jeans that aren't stretchy, but sometimes soft stretchy jeans create a stuffed sausage effect. These are a perfect medium between soft stretchy jeggings and more structured jeans that provide some support. I love the higher rise because I don't have to hike them up or deal with a gap in the waist. Also, they are nice and snug at the ankle so they fit nicely under fitted boots. I have these jeans in dark denim and black and I wear them all the time. They run true to size, which means they run a little big for JBrand. Usually I size up to 29 in JBrand, but the 28 fits well. They also get softer over time, but they still hold their shape.
I usually wear a 26 in all J Brand jeans and all my other skinny jeans and I ordered these in a 27 and they were still so tight on me (like spandex) and not very comfortable. I would order 2 sizes up from your normal skinny jean size if you want them to fit comfortably.
