I have been looking for several things in a shoe for awhile. First off, I would like something that is well-built and looks good. Secondly, I need a shoe that I can get in a wider size so I can fit my Orthotic insoles inside of them. Finnally, I prefer that they be made in the good old USA! These shoes met all my expectations.

This is my first pair of AEs after being told every man should own a pair only to find the shoe most uncomfortable. The shoe is very tight on the little toe. I have narrow feet and have never had this problem. I was sized in an allen edmond store and everything about the fit should be right, but when walking around it is the most uncomfortable shoe I've ever owned. This maybe my 1st and last pair of AEs.

Comfortable, great looking shoes

My Flatirons in burnished walnut are the second pair of Allen Edmonds I purchased, about 9 months ago. They see regular wear at work, and I've gotten nothing but compliments from anyone who sees them. They look great with work clothes and with a nice pair of jeans for a night out.
The fit is very comfortable - I wear a 14D and these had almost no issues during break-in, as opposed to my Hillcrest in 14D which had to be stretched slightly across the top of the arch.
My only complaint is that I wore through to the cork in the sole after only 9 months of wearing them 2 days per week, but that's probably due to me walking around the city in them on pavement. They're currently on their way back to be recrafted with a semi-rubber sole, which I hope will make them last longer between recraftings. The construction otherwise is excellent.
