great shoe

Beautiful looking shoe that fits great. I have a narrower foot than the previous review which may explain the better fit. All I needed to do was install Topys and all was fine in my shoe world.
They have an elegant look when paired with lightweight wool pants for an evening meal out and equally cool with raw denim for drinks with friends.
My first pair of AE and no doubt there will be more in the years to come.

Great Shoe if you don't have a WIDE foot ...

Let me begin by saying that I presently own 14 pairs of Allen Edmonds shoes ... all in 11 EEE ... and have been a loyal customer for over a decade now.
With all the AE shoes that I have owned, this one by far is the worst fitting for someone with a EEE foot. All my other shoes in the AE family have fit me perfectly coming out of the box with little to no break-in period required ... the Flatirons, however, are an entirely different story. It has been 6 weeks thus far with multiple wears and these shoes are still not broken-in ... not to mention the fact that the width is killing both of my feet.
Please don't get me wrong, these shoes are of remarkable quality and look fantastic ... this specific Last does not work well for those with EEE feet ... if you have a narrow foot, then I'm sure you will LOVE this shoe. If these shoes fit me like all of my other AE's, then they would undoubtedly be 5 Star shoes ... unfortunately, in my case, I can only give then two because of how hard and narrow they are. I still wear them because they look great, but at the end of the day, I'm sorry that I did as I'm left with some tender toes at the sides of my feet.
The shoe also runs a bit long than the other AE's that I have, so if your feet are narrow, then I would probably recommend going a half size smaller than normal ...
