Great look, but little padding
PostedNovember 8, 2013
My feet feel like I'm standing on two pieces of plywood; can there be so little cushioning compared with more expensive AE shoes?
I feel these shoes look best with light colored pants; if you wear them with blue jeans, you end up with little contrast...blue from the bottom of your feet to you waist. Boring.

Awesome Casual Shoe
PostedOctober 29, 2013
I recently purchased two pairs of Neumoks - one olive and one navy. And of course I had to purchase the matching belts.
What great, stylish, casual shoes. I love both colors, but the olive is particularly striking to me because olive is an unusual color for a shoe and is very distinctive. I may think about getting them in red at some point, but I'm not sure if I'm quite that bold.
The olive goes great with a pair of beige or khaki Dockers. With the blue laces they look great with a pair of blue jeans.
The navy is equally flexible with beige Dockers with the tan laces. It is indeed very dark and, has been said, almost appears black.
They are simply great looking and distinctive shoes.
I've only put maybe about 16 hours of wear on them at this point, but only about an hour's worth of walking (I have a desk job). Comfort is very good. My blue pair seem to fit a bit better. There is a very slight difference in construction which makes the olive ever-so-slightly tighter - especially on my right foot. It appears to be loosening up a bit as the break-in period continues.
Regarding general sizing, I'd definitely take heed to some of the advice given in different reviews and from advice given by customer support. I've been a 9.5 D all my life, but I needed to go with a 9 E for shoes in the 5 last. Obviously everyone's foot is going to be different, but I'd suggest that unless you measure on the small side of a given width you should definitely go a width up and 1/2 size down.
These have become my favorite casual shoes by far.

Pictures do not do justice to the blue color
PostedOctober 27, 2013
I came across these shoes in a local Men's store and just had to have them. Its been a great choice for wearing to my business casual office and I regularly receive complements on these shoes.
At this writing, I have had these shoes for just over 50 days and have been wearing them 2 to 3 times a week. It took about 4 wearings for them to break-in and now the fit and comfort is excellent.
The pictures do not do justice to the blue color which is ideal for wearing with jeans or khakis and goes well with dress pants. The red laces are not quite to my (slightly conservative) tastes but the beige laces make for a great business casual look. I will probably get a set of dark blue laces for when I want a more conservative look.
I wish the quality was just a little bit better for the price point. There are a couple of small stitching issues and on one shoe a small misalignment where the two ends of the welt meet. These issues are not noticeable unless you study the shoes.
What minor complaints I have, have not stopped me from buying additional AE shoes and I have recommended AE and the Neumok to friends.

Great shoe, average leather quality
PostedOctober 26, 2013
I bought my pair of Neumoks last fall and I was really excited about them, because they were my first pair of Allen Edmonds.
Unfortunately at the 3rd or 4th wearing I wore a little thicker than normal socks and I did not loosen up the laces enough I suppose, and the laces actually cut through the upper leather of one of the lace holes (attached pictures below). I was really upset about it and blamed myself for it, but then I discovered that the right shoe seemed to have an inferior and thinner leather quality than the left shoe. In the picture with the two shoes together the inferior quality leather shoe is the one on the left with the laces half-way undone.
I fixed/stitched the cut myself by hand with some fishing line and it seems to hold together well for the last year, but since I have somewhat perfectionist tendencies :-) it still bothers me sometimes. But I am slowly getting over it :-) I just tell myself that this makes my shoe unique, sine I am probably the only Allen Edmonds shoe owner that fixed his shoe himself with fishing line hahaha
I still love your company very much and have added another of your pairs to my collection, tan Cliftons, and I will keep being a loyal customer, because I love that you are Made in America and employ American workers and support this great country and are not selling out to corporate greed and quick, but unsustainable profits.
All the best...
