Heel squeak and vamp problems

I was very excited to receive the Patriot in the mail. I have had a couple of AE models in the past and have been impressed with the quality for the price. However, this product falls short. The fit seems slightly odd. As other reviewers have mentioned, the vamp is painful across the foot and I have also encountered the dreaded heel squeak. I have worn the shoes 5 days/wk for a month. The squeak presented about 2wks after beginning wear and is showing no sign of disappearing. Disappointed here as these were to be for daily wear.

Disappointed!

I purchased these Patriot shoes without first seeing them in person and have to say I am thoroughly disappointed with these and regret buying them. Mistakenly, I put these on right out of the box trusting that they would fit and wore them for the day so I can't return them, otherwise I would have sent them back immediately! The construction of the shoe is much less than what I would have expected from AE based on all the previous AE shoes I have owned. They are much lighter and don't appear to be as durable as other AE shoes. The are NOT fully-lined, unlike what I would told by the AE shoe representative. My other AE loafers are fully-lines from heel to toe, inclusively, when they say they are "fully-lined". Maybe that definition has now changed for AE. They have nowhere near the support that any other AE shoes have. What I mean is that feeling that you don't want to take the shoes off. With these, I can't wait to take them off!! As for the fitting, uh!! I ordered an 8E because the AE representative said that they would be in line with the other 8E AE shoes I have. I'm also experiencing some of the same issues that others have expressed here. It has now been over two weeks that I have been wearing these shoes and they are still extremly tight!! The heel is slipping on both feet, the backstay is too wide (unlike what is stated in the description of this shoe), and I am getting rubbing on the vamp which is causing discomfort to my feet. I'm putting these in my closet and not going to wear them anymore!!!

Great shoe but squeaky

I have to say I love this loafer but I don't love the squeak thats been encountered. The fit is fantastic and the look is exactly what I'm looking for! I can slide them on with a suit or jeans, so versatile. Unfortunately about one week in the squeak presented and hasn't gone away with break in. I can tippie toe to eliminate the very audible squeak but that's not good on the calf. I'm going on a month long break in and now I'm resorting to some bees wax treatment. Great shoe, hoping the squeak goes away.

Ouch

These shoes just don't fit right. I am a long-time Allen Edmonds customer and I always wear the same size. Not with these! Too tight over all. I thought they might stretch given the cordovan leather and I have tried them a couple of days but they are not giving a bit and remain uncomfortable.
