Dr. Martens are wonderful!!! I purchased 3 pair for my daughter, this beautiful burgundy, a patent leather black, and a black flower patterned style. They are true to size and are gorgeous. She loves them and so do I.

I am absolutely in love with this show. I ordered them on line and was ecstatic when I saw them come. Unfortunately, due to my abnormal feet-they're wide with low arches and a high instep-they didn't fit. Even when unlaces I felt a bruising pain on where the seam of the tongue is. These shoes are beautiful, I would completely recommend them if you have normal feet, but if you are like me I would suggest trying them on in store because mine have to go back.
I normally wear a size 8.5 (9 in Nike's), that being said I purchased a size 8 and they fit perfectly. I do not wear thick socks with my Doc's and you can really play around with the tightness of the laces. They are stiff and now I'm remembering the breaking in process (hello 90's). Once they are broken in, they'll be a dream. The inside of the right boot was defective in the pair I received and they are being sent back for an exchange. I'm treating the Cherry color almost as a "neutral".
I'm absolutely in love with these boots.. I ordered a size 6 (typically a size 6.5 but was told to size down) and I do not regret it. Yes, it is super tight and it does take some time to break into, but I still consider them to be very stylish. I cannot wait for them to be broken into already! I adore the cherry color... Thinking about getting the basic black color as well! :-)
