After trying the regular Hunter boot which was too tight I saw these and read other reviews. I knew the Huntress was not going to work as the ankle area was huge. The adjustable back boots were perfect. I could tighten the back strap and they fit perfectly. They are a little big in the foot bed but I wear them with tights and thick socks which solves that problem. I want to order the welly socks but I am not sure they will fit over the top of the adjustable band. If you don't like the Huntress try these as the fit is so much closer to the original boot!
These boots make me so happy, I just want to go out and splash in the rain and mud. I thought a long time about this purchase as they are very expensive for a pair of rubber boots, but once you receive yours, you will realize that they were worth every penny. LOVE,LOVE,LOVE these boots and can not wait for rain!
I've finally received my black Hunter boots and they fit great. I'm so happy I bought them as I use them for fishing in the river as well as gardening outside. They keep my feet dry and feel sturdy on. I bought some of the Hunter socks as well and while the socks are great and keep my feet warm, they make the boots fit a bit snugger around the calves and I get the "wrinkle effect" around the ankles of the boots. This may be that I am at the upper limit of the boots calf width. I still love them nonetheless.
These boots are very good quality and the adjustable back makes them a great fit for those that have a wide calf. It's very hard to find a good rain boot in a wide calf. These are true to size and the adjustable buckle in the back makes it easy to get them on and cinch them up.
