Fat Heel, but beautiful
PostedNovember 26, 2014
Proswide heel
I took the advice of other reviewers and sized down. These boots are NOT small. They have a wide heel, so I can see why some may think they run small, but the length was not short. I had to return them and get a larger size. I then however felt like the heel was extra wide, so I RE-bought the smaller pair. I ultimately ended up with my normal size and I wear a heavier sock to help fill up the shoe. But if I had bought the smaller size, my toes would have rubbed. Also I have found if you tie the boot tightly, it helps hold your foot where it belongs.
Other than size and the slightly strange fit (which I have gotten used to), these ar BEAUTIFUL boots. Quite warm, stylish, and appear to be weather proof. I wore them in the slushy, snow today and all was great with nice traction.
These willl get plenty of use!

Modern Glass Slipper?

Proscasual, practical, comfortable, quality
If Cinderella's glass slipper got her everything a woman in the 17th century could want (a husband and a castle?#, then Sorel has basically provided everything a modern woman could want #sturdy, stylish stability to take on the world#.
These boots are cute, but more masculine in person. The D-rings give the boot a biker feel, and I like to tie them loosely because it seems to look more flattering on my legs. The soles have incredible traction but have an aggressive pattern for gripping that makes the sole more manly than I expected.
I got the black/grill color, and the boots are just solid black, which is different from the picture, which to me shows them looking kind of dark gray/green. I was a little disappointed, but I own seven pairs of cognac boots, two pairs of burgundy boots, and zero pairs of black boots, so I was in need anyway, and they've quickly become a staple in my wardrobe.
The day I got them, we got six inches of snow, so I wore them to dinner and then walking the dogs when we got home. With a pair of wool socks underneath to make up for the lack of lining these boots handle like champs in the snow and ice. I didn't slip at all! The next day my visiting friends and I hiked at Red Rocks, and even with all the snow and ice build-up on the stairs, I had no problem gripping and balancing - even in wedges #brave of me to wear them in the first place, I know, but they were great)! I finished up the weekend wearing them to the art museum dressed up with leggings and a sweater and dressed down to Boulder with jeans and a puffer vest.
Suffice it to say, of the first forty-eight hours I owned these boots, I literally wore them about thirty hours. They have better grip than any other boots on wet tile floors, they keep my feet nice and toasty and dry combined with thicker socks, and they look amazing with jeans and leggings.
I've seen pictures online of women wearing these little gems with almost everything. If you're unsure of how to wear them, just find them in an image search. I prefer mine more casual and laid back, but a few ladies paired them with mini skirts or dresses and really pulled it off!
I got a size 6, and I often wear a 6.5 in boots. I'd actually say that with big socks, I could've used the 6.5 in this boot as well, but they've stretched enough for my toes to be comfortable anyway!
Like everyone else writing these reviews, I loved these boots for TWO SEASONS and finally pulled the trigger on them, and I am definitely getting my money out of them. I got them two weeks ago and have worn them probably twelve days of that, and winter has just begun! Plus these boots aren't lined, so they will make great transition-weather boots in fall and spring!

MOST STYLISH COLD WEATHER BOOT
PostedNovember 25, 2014
Prosstylish, comfortable, functional
I bought both colors: Black & Grill intending to return one pair.
They were so comfortable walking all day in NYC.
I don't even feel the height of the heel as these have a low slope.
Getting compliments and the "Love your boots! Where did you get those?" clinched it.
I kept both as I've been wanting stylish winter boots that could withstand some snow, sleet & cold rain.
I usually don't like lace-ups w/o convenient zippers, but these were fast and easy to get on & off.
