Stylish with comfort

I was looking for a stylish bootie that could handle the harsh wet winters of the Midwest without sacrificing style. I wear this to work with pants on snow days without the bulky look. I can even pair it with skirts for a sporty look. Color is easy to coordinate. Very comfortable for being a higher heel. Roomy to wear with thick socks.

A great casual boot. I'm 5'2" and love the height I get in these boots. The boot is very sturdy and comfortable. I wear a size 8 shoe and they fit perfectly. I pair them with jeans with a bit of a flare so the stacked heel is not noticeable. Long socks are needed due to a sharp feeling of something digging into the top of my foot if I try to wear ped type socks. Worth the money--the quality is very nice.

... but they do run about a half size big. Despite the heel they are really comfortable, I was on my feet all day and barely noticed. I'm sure I'll be wearing them all winter long.

barebones and expensive

This is a great looking trendy if spendy 'combat' boot with lots of style- a wedge heel and a two tone exterior. Plus it's Sorel and waterproof.
Unfortunately, there was no attention given to the interior of these boots which is bare, spare and cold. About as warm as pair of cowboy boots on a cement floor.
The insole has no extra cushy (or any) liner, so when the ball of your foot hits the ground, it hits hard. There is no lining on the sides of the boot either, so it rubs against the anklebone. Boots should be warm and welcoming if they're for more rugged use. Maybe they weren't designed for the mountains after all. They are probably great for 2-3 hours in Los Angeles.
I returned both pairs. (I had to order both colors as the pictures on the website did not give much of a clue and grill/black or black/grill was not much of a description. Grill, by the way, is actually a sooty brown and the grill/black is a much better looking boot. The other one (black/grill) was all black, and very military. How is one supposed to know what grill is anyway?
Re my recommendation. I would recommend to a friend only if she bought it a size or two larger and planned for a gel orthotic and/or fleece socks, and the boots were on sale.
They are too expensive for boots with such a barebones interior.
A positive I forgot to mention: The lace up front is easy-on easy-off.
