Favorite AE Shoes

OK, I will admit that I am an Allen Edmonds fanboy. I own eight pairs, the majority of which are based on the 65 last (Park Avenue, Fifth Avenue, Strands, McAllister, etc.).
The Rush Street model is my overall favorite AE shoe, so much so that I bought two pairs! I should also disclose that I love Horween Chromexel leather, as evidenced by my many Aero jackets made out of said leather.
The Rush Street is even more comfortable than my other 65 last based models, perhaps due to the "give" of the pull-up leather. The styling, same as the Strand, is an excellent choice for business casual as well as dressing up my favorite pair of jeans.
So why do I own two pairs? While I like the brown color as supplied, I also wanted a slightly darker brown color. I use the same Pecards's leather dressing on one pair as I have used on my Chromexel jackets, belts, and boots for years. It protects and softens but also darkens the leather somewhat, which was a look I desired for one of my two pairs. I only use AE's Leather Lotion on my "lighter" pair. #While the Pecard's provides more protection, I did want to maintain the lighter color#. I also couldn't decide between the supplied light brown and blue laces............ so the blue laces are on my darker pair while the lighter ones adorn the lighter leather.
These shoes get the most wear of my AE collection!

These shoes will always look good with anything you wear for years to come. Very surprised at the comfort level - some of the most comfortable shoes I've owned. Dainite sole is tough and comfortable (and looks cool). The Chromexcel is so good - definitely my favorite leather. Easy to maintain - a wet rag and condition maybe once or twice a year with AE Leather Lotion or other products made specifically for Chromexcel/oil infused leathers.
I have weird feet I suppose. L is an 11 and R is about 10.5. Fairly high instep. On the fence between D and E. I wear these in a 10.5D. The 11D would have been better for my instep - but the 10.5 fits great in the ball of the foot. I used straight bar lacing and tend to wear thinner socks (though not in the photo) with these and they are perfect. The Chromexcel may be a little more forgiving as far as tightness/stiffness is concerned.
Then again I wear the Kenilworth's (same last) also in a 10.5D and they fit great too. But I believe the Kenilworth is one of, if not the longest shoe AE makes. The Rush Street's fit is a little better. I digress.
If I could recommend one single pair of shoes out of all of the ones I own, it would be the Rush Street. Hands down.

Bought the chromexel brown. This is a gorgeous shoe. It's very stylish and well made. I think it's easily the best looking casual shoe AE has. They took about a week and a half to break in, but now they fit great. I'd wear them everyday if I could, but rotate to treat them right.

This shoe is everything I expected. It pairs well both for casual outings as well as dress occasions. I would definitely purchase another pair.
