I had a pair of these same Dr.Martens only they didn't have a zipper on the side which is ingenious this time around. The last pair I had I purchased over 24 years ago and they finally started to give out on the top side by the shoelaces; nothing that a good Shoe Repairman can't fix, but we have no such place or person where I live to fix them. I LOVE them and going to hold on to them and hope one day I find a shoe repairman to fix them for me, the rest of them are still in PERFECT condition, even the bottoms have hardly any show of wear on them. They have walked hundreds of miles I'm sure over 24 years and the most comfortable of any shoe I've ever worn. Now I just have to break in my new ones. WELL worth a little extra $$$ for this kind of quality. YOU JUST CAN'T WEAR THEM OUT! I am 57 and wear a little girls/boys size 1 if that helps. I normally wear a size 2 1/2 in other shoes, so these do run large!
