We are sorry to hear about the fit challenges you are experiencing with the University wingtip. Our shoes are made on a variety of lasts and each last can fit differently based on the contours of one's feet; by selecting the last and size and width combination that most resembles the shape of your feet you will achieve a superior fit. As far as the sole, the University features the Dainite sole which is made with a denser rubber compound and it will possess some stiffness right out of the box. However, based on results from our own wear trials as well as customer feedback, the Dainite sole will loosen up moderately over time with normal wear.
