Love These Boots!
PostedNovember 23, 2014
These boots are very comfortable. I've worn them on numerous occasions for hours on end, walking the streets of various cities, and they remain comfortable. The appear to be built to last for a long time and I can already tell that they will be very durable. The next test is to see if they remain warm and dry when it gets really cold. So far, I'm very happy with my decision to purchase these shoes.

Ecco "Bendix" after a few weeks
PostedNovember 21, 2014
I purchased this "Bendix" boot at Nordstom's, Roseville California. From both the Nordstrom website and the Ecco website it appears that there is another Ecco boot named "Bendix" of a different design, having a padded opening, and a bootstrap to assist in putting the boot on.
This review regards the "Bendix" pictured above, Nordstrom Item #784377.
This boot is leather lined in the ankle, heel and instep area, and fabric lined in the vamp (toe box) area. Since the weather is now cold and damp the lining is welcome. My feet do not notice the water at all, so I will guess that the "Hydromax" waterproofing is working as designed.
I wear a 101/2 D on the Brannock device and selected the 9-9.5US 43EU while in the store, so I will say that these run a little large. The fit continues to be very good, not loose, not constricting.
While visiting a local shoe repair shop on other business, the owner told me that the 4 piece heel leather of this "Bendix" might be a problem in the future, but that he could repair it if necessary. Take a look at the heel area in the pictures above and decide.
The boot is light enough for easy walking, and with the comfortable footbed you would expect from an Ecco shoe. I especially appreciate the padded support under the ball of the foot area.
The arch support is not pronounced, but certainly adequate.
I had gone to Nordstrom's looking for a "chukka" style boot. After trying 4 or 5 pair of "chukka" style and other boots, I chose these as the most sturdy and most comfortable.
The sole is a plastic, the leather is described as Camel. Ecco can probably resole these at a repair facility, but I have not checked yet.
I had a pair of Ecco dress shoes resoled at an Ecco repair facility and the resole and reconditioning worked out fine.
Pleased with this purchase.
