My 8 year old loves these. They go with leggings, jeans, dressed up or down....perfect! We ordered the matte black and they run true to size. I’ve owned my Hunter’s for over six years and my other daughter has them as well. So my 8 year old was happy to get on the Hunter bandwagon! You can’t go wrong with this boot! Keep in mind they are a rain boot, however. Not lined, so your feet will get cold unless you have a thick sock on or you purchase the Hunter liners.
I purchased the violet in a size 5M Big Kid. I wear a size U.S. Women's Size 5.5 in flats (no socks or thin socks for flats) and 6/6.5 in shoes (with socks). The fit was perfect and the color is beautiful! It really does pop. I took off one star because I felt that Hunter boots have gone down in quality a little. I bought a pair of Hunter boots about 8-9 years ago. In fact, I bought this exact same pair in bubblegum pink in a size 4M Big Kid. I compared the two boots and my old ones were definitely thicker in the shaft compared to my new pair. On one hand, you get a lot more ankle movement with the thinner boot; on the other hand, my feet may get cold faster with the thinner/newer boot. I'd have to be sure to wear thicker socks or wool socks. My feet never got cold in my old pair of Hunter boots.
My daughter is 8 and this is her 5th pair over the years I’ve purchased for her. She wears them with everything!!! Very comfortable since she goes for them day after day for school. They hold up really well too. As much as she wears them, we’re able to buff all the scuffs out and pass them down when she outgrows them.
My daughters have worn Hunter boots since age 2. They are now age 9 & 5. Quality is excellent and withstands the variety of climate changes in Toronto. I love the colour choices!
