Excellent shoe - wearing it for the first time today - and love it! Was a little concerned about the leather sole - having worn rubber soles for several years now.
I wear wide shoes - Rockport (wide) have traditionally been the most satisfying from a width point of view. The Allen Edmonds required a 3E width (a 2E was insufficient).
This is my fifth pair of Allen Edmonds, and I can honestly say that I have no complaints whatsoever regarding the quality, craftsmanship, and comfort. The shoe is a classic that is handcrafted with impeccable attention to detail, extremely durable, and comfortable to wear day in and day out. It will not go out of style and does not disappoint!
I purchased my first pair of Strand about 4 years ago and was thinking about sending them to AE for recrafting, but opted to buy a new pair during the Anniversary Sale instead. The leather is a little stiff at first, but will break in eventually, nice rich color especially after a polish.
