great shoes, really comfortable and stylish

Great shoe, really comfortable. Only needed 2-3 hours to break them in. Only issue I have with the shoe is with the stitching, some lose threads on the upper but not really noticeable

Great looking, agree with others about poor quality
PostedOctober 7, 2014
After wearing these once, the heel is starting to come off my pair of Red Neumoks. Very disappointing as I live overseas and unable to return them to the store where I bought them. I bought 3 other pairs at the same time so I hope the quality is better on those.
On the positive side, these are a fun and funky looking pair of shoes which look great with jeans.

Nice shoe, more attention to detail is needed

I first saw the Neumoks while on a trip to Troy, MI in February, 2013. The olive appealed to me, but the color was a little outside my comfort zone. I saw them again on a return trip a year later but still didn't go for it. I finally purchased them online in May and received them a few days later.
I measure 14AA on a brannock and purchased a 13B based on recommendations to order a size down. The 13B is perfect with regards to width, though I'd be better off with a 13.5 for length. A 14B would be too big for me. They were a little stiff when I first tried them on but they loosened up after the first wearing.
I paid full retail for them, but don't feel the attention to detail was on par with my other AE shoes. The broguing and stitching on the toe cap don't align properly and the cut/pinking isn't as precise as it should be. I debated returning them for a different pair but ultimately decided that I would be the only one who would notice. Also, I wanted to wear them to an upcoming event and a replacement pair would not have arrived in time. Although I like the overall look and fit, I wouldn't consider them "first" quality.
In the end, I liked the fit and comfort of the olive Neumoks so much that I bought a pair in navy three months later. The navy is very dark, almost black. They aren't as "antiqued" as the olive and have a more formal look. I also ordered these in a 13B and they fit as well as the first. The detailing on the navy pair is much better than the olive -- all of the stitching and broguing is where it should be, and the pinking is precise. However, the quarter on the left shoe is cut too high and it digs into my ankle a bit. It's bad enough that I ordered a replacement pair. Although the replacement pair felt better in the ankle, it was noticeably wider in the toe. I ordered a third pair and had the same issue with the width. In the end I decided to keep the first pair with the hopes that the quarter will adapt to the shape of my foot. I've worn them a half dozen times or so and they do feel better, but not perfect. I don't get blisters but they still dig into my ankle a bit. I'm hoping the quarter will soften up more over time.
PROS:
Comfort.
Traditional, yet unique styling.
Fit my narrow feet.
CONS:
Attention to detail/finishing.
I do recommend the Neumoks, but suggest that they be tried on and inspected prior to purchase. Like other reviewers, I suggest ordering 1/2 to 1 size smaller.

Not for people who walk a lot
PostedAugust 26, 2014
I live in an urban city and walk to/from work. While these shoes are stylish and initially very comfortable, the soles wore out beyond repair in 3-4 months. I want to replace them, but not sure these are up to typical Allen Edmonds quality. Especially for the price.
