Proscomfortable, well made
My first "Allen Edmonds". Runs slightly small. Purchased 1/2 size up that was recommended and it fits like a glove. Very impressed with the workmanship. Very comfortable out of the box and I trust that it would feel even better with a little break in. The colour was slightly darker than the picture but still looks great.
I would really like to love these shoes. The blue leather is a really nice looking departure from the usually traditional style of my other AEs. However, this shoe is very uncomfortable. This shoe is supposed to be built on the same last as the Park Avenue, but it feels much, much narrower than that shoe -- which is distressing because the Park Avenue is already a narrow shoe. I own an 11.5 D in the Park Avenue, which is a little long in the toes, so I ordered two pairs of the Neumok to try on - the 11.5 D and 11 E. Both pairs of these are LONGER than my 11.5 D Park Avenues. They look goofy and are very tight through the arch.
I remain an AE loyalist, but I dislike this model.
This shoe just didn't live up to my hopes. I have a pair of AE boots that I love and get numerous compliments on. This oxford, however, seems to run narrower and longer. The result is unflattering on my foot. I'd recommend others trying it out before basing their decision on my review though because it is a very handsome shoe.
My boyfriend has been lusting after these shoes for over a year, so I was *SO* happy to discover they were part of this year's Anniversary sale (and that he didn't find them first). Was able to give him a gift he absolutely loves, which is always the best feeling. He has a really hard time buying shoes, and the Allen Edmonds come in the 15 EEE, which fit him perfectly. Oftentimes buying shoes so big means sacrificing style, but these shoes look GOOD. The red laces contrast beautifully with the blue leather, and you can tell it's a shoe made to last. A bit pricey for some, I'm sure, but totally worth the money when you break it down to price-per-wear. And as always, can't say enough nice things about the Nordstrom shopping experience, both in-store and online. These I purchased with the iPhone app, I had them in my hands mere days later. 10/10
