Love the Kayano.... And buy the newest version each year! It is the only shoe that I have found that is wide enough across the top and doesn't aggravate my bunion. The ultra cushioned shoe gives great support and allows me to run longer with zero joint pain! Amazing!
I would give it the full five stars if the shoe came in more colors and styles, though I will say the styles get better each year. I bought the mint green and I'm pretty happy with the style.
Running for more years than I care to mention except to say the gel Asics Kayano are the best running shoe I have come across and every Nordstrom Anniversary Sale I buy at least 2 pairs.The Kayano 21 is cut generously so I was able to order the wide width in one color and also able to treat myself to another color. Although the price has gone up slightly it is the best time to stock-up on a great running shoe. The gel technology really helps with impact. My sales people are always great in the shoe department!
I bought these shoes at full retail a couple months ago. They were immediately comfortable. After wearing them for a couple weeks, they formed to my feet and are extremely comfortable. I wear them walking several miles a day. I will buy another pair at the sale price for the great value. They fit true to size. I chose the purple with yellow laces, they look great with jeans.

Prosverycomfortable, high-performance, durable, fun color
I am not an avid runner but I know that avid runners use this model. I only work out 2-3 times a week for only one hour at a time. I use these when I travel or as walking shoes as well. This is my go-to brand and model. I have tried new balance as well as Asics in a different model. I thought that since I am not an avid runner, I could make do with a shoe that cost less. The Gel Kayano cost more but they are the only ones that I am comfortable in. I have weak arches so am prone to callouses. My right foot has the beginnings of a bunion and my ankles are not very strong. Gel Kayano shoes are well cushioned, supportive without being restrictive, heavy enough that I feel protected yet so light that I am able to move easily. I have tried lighter shoes that resulted in ankle pain and even injury. I love the colors that came out--bought the grey/purple (I really wanted the vanilla but not available in-store).
