These boots said they were "soft leather" - apparently soft leather basically means suede. I stay away from suede because I'm not great at taking care of it. The boot itself is very cute/sexy but the ankle area was super tight as was the calf. I know the calf would probably stretch out in time but the ankle tightness was something that wouldn't be bearable to break in so they are going back. If you have super thin calves and ankles these might work for you. I am 5'2" and 114 lbs so not chunky in the ankles OR calves.
I've been looking for a platform knee high boot for a while and this boot is amazing. Super light, great color, and the zipper makes it easy to get your foot in. The only complaint is that it does fit a little tight for me in the calf. Although I will say I don't have the skinniest calf but definitely not considered a wide calf.
