Proscomfortable
After months of searching, I am happy to say I love these boots. They are comfortable, edgy, and stylish. I would definitely recommend going with your regular size, or even 1/2 size down. I went 1/2 size down and I'm so glad I did. I like to wear thin socks or no socks, and these boots do stretch due to the soft leather. I bought them during Nordstrom's sale. I absolutely love them and I am very picky about shoes!
These boots are made well, but I had trouble with the sizing and I think it is at least partially because they are quite heavy. I am usually a size 8 in Gentle Souls. I tried a 7.5 and an 8. The 7.5 was extremely snug. The 8 was more comfortable, but slipped a lot on my heel when I walked because of the weight of the shoe. Had to return both.
I love Gentle Souls. I owned many pairs and have never been dissatisfied. Even though these were just as comfortable as my previous boots, they were not "pretty" They looked quite "bulky".
