These 1Ks look fantastic in both Black and Brown. They have a Nice profile, less bulky than Red Wings. They are also extremely comfortable. First thing I recommend is taking them to a shoe repair shop and having a rubber half sole put on over the the leather sole to extend the life of the boot. But the quality is fantastic, the horween chromexcel leather should age beautifully. absolutely worth the money. If taken care of properly this boot should last 15 years maybe more.
I bought these for my boyfriend as a Christmas gift. It turn's out he wanted the original 1000 Mile Wolverine's, so I returned this pair. However, I must say that when the original pair arrived in the mail, the packaging was much nicer than the McClean (this pair). The leather of the original version of this boot seemed much nicer. Overall, I think it just depends on the look you're going for! This brand in general is amazing. My bf has had his brown pair for 5+ years and refuses to give them up!
These boots look great online and even better in person. The amount of compliments received when wearing these far exceeds any other pair of shoes I own. The look is timeless and the leather seems to only get better with each and every wear.
The leather is a very strong, durable leather. With that said, it takes roughly 3-5 wears to truly break these in. However, once broken in, they are the most comfortable boots I've ever owned....almost like they were designed exactly for my foot. I'm looking forward to enjoying these for many years to come.
As far as the sizing, a 1/2 size to a whole size down would do the trick as they are cut large.
