There is no better fit and feel than an Allen Edmond shoe. While AE shoes are a bit pricey, they are well worth the money spent. I typically get 10-15 years out of my AE shoes. With the opportunity to refurbish the shoes, that time can easily increase. I consider Allen Edmond the best value for my money.
Allen Edmonds make incredible shoes, and the Strand (along with the Park Ave) is one of their most recognizable models. My biggest issue with this brand was determining the best size in the 5 last, so I hope this helps someone looking for sizing advice - I wear an 11D in just about everything, but the 5 last is long and narrow, longer than a typical shoe of its size. After much trial and plenty of error, I found that sizing down by half a size and upping the width by one letter results in a perfect fit - in this case, I'm an 10.5E. Give that a try if you're having fit issues - it solved mine. This is now one of the most comfortable and best looking shoes I own.
This is my 3rd pair of AE shoes. I have Park ave and Mcallister as well. The quality is superb as always. AE never let you down. If you are the first time buyer of AE, I recommend you to try them at store to get the right. I used to wear 9 D for almost all of my other shoes. But I ended up wearing 7.5 EEE for AE. 65 last is the narrowest and longest in AE line.
